RIP Gilmore Girls *sob*

That’s right, according to Wikipedia – the world’s expert on absolutely everything – the escapades of Lorelai, Rory and the rest of those crazy inhabitants of Stars Hollow, has come to an end after seven years.

Fare thee well Gilmores, may your legacy live on through the magic of dvd.

If you build it, will they come? Or did they want it in the first place?

We were talking in a session yesterday about how different generations (x, y, z) push take up of new technology and how as these generations get older, will their habits change.

So this got me thinking (insert Carrie Bradshaw reference here) what comes first, the need or the technology? Now I’m no expert but it seems to me that when the www was born, the way we use it today might not have been the intent but here we are, pretty much unable to live without it. In fact, governments are spending big dollars on trying to ensure equitable access, not only to the internet but it’s getting even more important that everyone has access at the fastest speed possible.

 So, my question is, in the advent of sites such as myspace, youtube and all the rest, what came first: the ability to build the technology and show how clever we are or the need to share ourselves with the world?

Why doesn’t Qantas offer free coffee to delayed travellers?

First post, first rant. 

It’s a question that troubles those of us who are stuck in Canberra airport for three and a half hours, that’s right, THREE AND A HALF HOURS, due to fog in Sydney.

Now I know that Qantas doesn’t control the weather, however, having arrived at the airport at 6.15am this morning and being told at check-in that my flight was actually cancelled, there was no offer of a drink, coffee, even water. At that particular moment in time there was no explanation or other information as to when I might be flying out either.

To make matters worse I was subjected to the stupid Today show all morning. What’s that about?! Come on Canberra Kochie and Mel lovers, unite, rise up, and get the station changed at the airport! That or let’s work out a way to rid the world of the wretched fog.
