Why doesn’t Qantas offer free coffee to delayed travellers?
First post, first rant.
It’s a question that troubles those of us who are stuck in Canberra airport for three and a half hours, that’s right, THREE AND A HALF HOURS, due to fog in Sydney.
Now I know that Qantas doesn’t control the weather, however, having arrived at the airport at 6.15am this morning and being told at check-in that my flight was actually cancelled, there was no offer of a drink, coffee, even water. At that particular moment in time there was no explanation or other information as to when I might be flying out either.
To make matters worse I was subjected to the stupid Today show all morning. What’s that about?! Come on Canberra Kochie and Mel lovers, unite, rise up, and get the station changed at the airport! That or let’s work out a way to rid the world of the wretched fog.

Things could have been worse. You could have been stranded whilst Jessica Rowe was still the host.
I’ve had the meals on Qantas flights, by Neil Perry. The cardboard box had more flavour than the food.
Count your lucky stars that they didn’t try to feed you.

I can understand why you were really annoyed but fog can also be beautiful.
Next time you’re caught in fog think of how it is forcing you to stop – it can be a bit like stopping to smell the roses only you’re staring into a misty nothingness – no traffic jams to watch, no architectural eyesores – just a lovely fluffy nothingness.
I too was stuck this morning- I could deal with the lack of coffee, but was equally unimpressed at having to not only watch Today, but the entire Kerri-Anne Kennerly show- what a morning.

Thanks justatest99, I get where you’re coming from, thing is there are rarely traffic jams in Canberra and our nations capital is bereft of architectural eyesores.
Any other suggestions?
OMG I know what you mean Skye, Kerrie-anne. The pain. She’s usually blotto by 9.30. It’s a bit like an eclipse, you know you shouldn’t watch but you can’t look away.
